I’ve been down lots of different and interesting career paths... sales and training, teaching, managing bands...but one thing I have always been interested in is food, the science behind it, how it affects our health, the effect it has on children and...well... pretty much anything associated with it.

After taking a Crossfit Nutrition course 6 years ago(administered by Robb Wolf) I finally realized (and believed) how important nutrition is. I had learned way back in the ‘Atkins’ days what certain food combinations can do to your body, but this course brought everything to the forefront and just made sense.

A life-changing event that forever changed me and my family, was when my youngest sister passed away from colon cancer at the young age of 41. If that doesn’t make you think about how precious life is and program yourself to live life to the fullest, I don’t know what will. I was recently motivated to finally begin my Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) and Nutrition Consultant (NC) certification courses and it couldn’t have happened at a better time. Almost a year after my sister passed away, my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 abdominal cancer. This new ‘wrench’, and the fact that I now have children old enough to understand why I’m doing what I’m doing, has made it even more of a mission for me to research and learn everything I can to help them. Not only do I need to eat right to keep up with them, but I also want to provide them with the knowledge they need to make smart food choices and hopefully steer clear of our family medical history.

I will eventually take my ‘show on the road’ but, for now, I am experimenting with various types of cooking styles: Paleo, Primal, Mediterranean, and gluten-free, helping family and friends with their health concerns, researching ways to help cancer patients get through chemo, how to keep cancer survivors in remission and getting closer to my dream of becoming a Nutrition Consultant and Holistic Health Practitioner.

Following my dream...

What does it mean?

DAME  (pronounced DAH-meh) means ‘give me’ in Spanish. My husband came up with the clever name after playing around with the ones I’ve used for my other ventures.

My goal is to give you more than you will need to embark on a happy and healthy lifestyle.
